In the second half of 2017, Many Coloured Sky worked with Collective Impact to undertake research and develop a report into the nature, scope and needs of Australia's LGBTQI+ community with regard to advocacy and social change. The research included a comprehensive survey of 200 LGBTQI+ organisations and services across the country, focus group discussions in most state and territory capitals, and a number of key informant interviews. The research aimed to capture the lessons and learnings of the Marriage Equality Campaign and identify the structures and resources that would best support effective advocacy on other LGBTQI+ issues and priorities.
